The shock-absorbing PVC clips used for fixing the fabrics in the grooves of frames and stretchers might in certain cases be too strong for paper or very thin textiles, e.g. some non-woven fabrics, which may be crushed by the clip. Chassitech sells a tool which compresses the clip to reduce its width.
The tool has two grooved wheels mounted on ball bearings. The distance between the wheels can be adjusted to reduce the width of the clip as required.
Tip: It is strongly recommended to work in a well-heated room to improve the malleability of the clip.
